Jonathan Podwil is painter and experimental filmmaker living and working in Brooklyn, NY. His work often contain oblique references to both well known and obscure historical events. He has also made short super8 films which are digitally manipulated and presented as looped animations. Podwil's exhibitions have been reviewed in Artforum, The New Yorker, the New York Sun, The New York Times, Gothamist, and Eikon. He has shown at galleries and non-profit spaces such as Plane Space, Smack Mellon, White Columns in New York, IG Bildende Kunst in Vienna, and Kunstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin.
